OVERVIEW:
Welcome to your volunteer challenge! The task is to build a mini-golf hole using a variety of canned food products that will then be donated to a local food bank. Your team will incorporate design ideas, building efforts, and mini-golf creativity in the process of constructing a Golf Hole for the company’s “Give Back” Challenge. Your group will make one hole for every team that is participating. Upon completion of the construction, we will have a putting tournament for each team to collect the best scores.

All food products will be donated to a local food bank following the event.

COURSE ITEMS:

  • Food Products for the Sculpture
  • PVC Pipe & Connectors
  • Cardboard Tubing
  • Duct Tape
  • Scissors
  • Poster Boards (number your hole, name it, and set par from 3-5)
  • Foam Core for cutting and design
  • Rubber Bands
  • Indoor-outdoor turf (10 feet)
  • Sticks, dowels, and more
  • 200 items of food products will be donated per team to a food bank following the event.

INCLUSIONS:

  • Coordination of the program with charity
  • All supplies provided
  • MC, staff, sound & music
  • Rules packets, golf balls, etc.


AWARDS:
1st place with the lowest score will earn an award, and we will award the best-designed hole as well.


SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

  • Welcome and overview of rules
  • Teams design course (20 minutes)
  • Teams build course (45 minutes)
  • Tournament (30 minutes)
  • Awards (10 minutes)
  • Boxing of Golf Course Food into Food Bank Boxes (10 minutes)

CONSTRUCTION:
The goal is to create a tee box, fairway, and putting green as a team. Using supplies and food donation items, be creative and make a theme for the hole. Your hole should be able to be completed in 3 shots (Par 3) with a maximum score of 5.

  • Incorporate risk and fun elements to allow for better scores if participants achieve the challenge.
  • The design should be challenging and functional while being fun.
  • Your team will be judged on creativity, use of resources, and playability of your golf hole.
  • Name your golf hole and decorate a tee box sign with a logo and the hole number.
  • Use the poster board provided and write 4-5 special “golf hole” rules for participants at your hole.
  • You are assigned a putter for your hole and you can add to or modify it for more creativity.


GAME DAY:

  • Each hole will have a specialty putter that will be used only at your hole.
  • Max score of 5 for each participant.
  • Participants will share putters at the hole.
